and don't provide actual paths until you are ready to land them.
The small "lake" represented in this simulation, is in fact our drinking water at Woronora Dam!
The size of the airport represented here is not representative of the Fed's grand plan. It will be a 24 hour mega airport - the world's largest.
Notice that the site is "treeless" The Feds and economic rationalists have leveled the area in this plan - creek valleys up to 110 meters deep will need to be filled in to create a platform approximately 12 kilometers square for runways and terminal facilities. They could not give a damn that this site is classified as "pristine" Australian native bush, the home of Sydney's only extensive Koala colonies and native wildlife and flora. In effect, the lungs of Southern Sydney. Not to mention the historical Aboriginal sites..........Try to take a peaceful hike in one of the world's oldest National Parks when this is up and running - only A FEW kilometers from the Holsworthy site!
It does not show you the associated infrastructure. 80,000 extra vehicles on Southern Sydney roads each day. There are resident concerns with Avgas aircraft fuel transportation methodology. Just to mention a couple - there are a more than a "few".
Meanwhile, the Liberal Federal Government, and apparently the Labor Federal Opposition, think that all Sydney residents are fair game when it comes to imposing such monstrosities. It is a part of a wider picture of collusion between political parties and vested interests, mostly business and tourism. Get real in the 90's Australia. Locate it outside the Sydney basin.
Ok, Ok, the use of this simulation might be a joke. But Sydney residents have a right to be CONCERNED AND ANGRY over the mishandling of airport issues that go back years - that is no joke!
